Scotland tips
Just returned from 10 days in Scotland. Here are my personal opinions/suggestions. Driving in Glasgow and Edinburgh (for us right-side drivers) is tough. Have a good navigator and maps. Don't miss Stirling and St. Andrew's. Even for this non-golfer, the Old Course was incredible. Stirling area was great and Stirling Castle is a must-see. Argyll House B&B on Causeway Road in Stirling is a great location and Joan was a gracious host. If time is limited, skip the Isle of Mull. Balloch area at the south end of Loch Lomond was beautiful and restful. I would recommend Willowdale, a small B&B run by Geoff and Iona. Allow at least two days in Edinburgh. Take advantage of the Mac bus 24 hour ticket. The complete tour takes about an hour and the ticket is good for 24 hours of hops on and off. If you need to check e-mail, there is an Internet Cafe on Rose st. Enjoy the restaurants and night life on Rose Street as well.
