Scotland this month
We are taking our first trip to Scotland this month. We will be staying in North Berwick for a golf tournament for our son, but want to take a day trip (or 2 day trip) to St. Andrews. We will have a car and welcome any suggestions on must sees, lodging (budget about 200US per nite) if we make it a 2 day trip, restaurants and any suggestions on golf related activities.
Thanks! |

Much of that info was about east lothian - St Andrews is a very good 2-day trip from there. If one of your days in Fife is a Sunday - there is no play on the Old Course so it becomes a vast city park and you can walk the entire course and the sands.
I personally would stay in one of the fishing villages like Crail or Anstruther - but there is LOTS of accomodations in St Andrews itself. The Cellar in Anstruther is a superb restautant. The Peat Inn (in "Peat Inn") is a special place to eat - but pricey. |
In St Andrews, you are wise to decide early in the day where you want to eat, and make reservations.
