There is a wonderful abbey, Pluscarden, that is accessible from Nairn (located between Forres and Elgin). It is a working abbey that dates from the 13th century. This is my favorite place in Scotland - very beautiful and spiritual. The small shop sells honey and beeswax hand balm made by the monks from their beekeeping operations.
