. . . but don't worry -- it ain't like Disneyland or Times Square. It is a big country with relatively few people in most places.

I have to agree. The few places that do exist would not appeal. It is getting more difficult to get off the beaten path as Scotland has become a very popular destination. Basically, look at a map and those roads that have few towns would be your best optionbut those are going to be far north and your time is limited.As janisj said it’s still not like visitingDisneyland, the Eiffel Tower or the Collossium. Always helpful to get a guidebook and for your purposes, I’d suggest Lonely Planet or Footprint Scotland Highlands and Islands.

Thank you everyone for your help. I’ve only been to Europe once (Sorrento and Rome, Italy) and as you said, there were portions, aka the Collossium, that were very crowded. I guess that’s what I view different stops at Scotland as looking like since that’s my only European experience to go off of haha. After hearing this input though, it seems that this is not the case.
