Just in case others are using this thread to help plan their vacation, below are the accommodations that we booked after lengthy searches for a family of 4. Of course I can't review them yet, but they all had good enough reviews from others that I'm sure you can't go wrong with any of them.

FYI, we changed our accommodations from Inverness to Nairn (The Invernairne B&B) to stay in a seaside location. The waiting now is the hardest part. Luckily we still have to finish up the Ireland part of the planning so that will keep us occupied for another week or two.
