Scotland Castle Advice

So we are going to work our way up from Edinburgh to Skye and return. We want to see as many castles as we can fit in. This list of castles is more or less along or close to our route. Which ones of these would you recommend? Are there other lesser known ones that you would favor in lieu of any of these? Thanks!
Edinburgh
Stirling
Blair
Balmoral
Cawdor
Urquhart
Eilean Donan
Armadale
Dunvegan

Balmoral is nowhere near a route from Edinburgh to Skye ... . Plus you can only enter one room. So cross it off your list. Neither is cawdor unless you spend time in the inverness/ nairn area. Eilean Donan is a quick photo OP. Armadale is mainly a garden/museum.

very near Stirling is Doune, which is great. Plus - not a castle but worth a stop is Inchmahome Priory.

Nix Armadale Castle. Hardly worth a stop even if you just happen to be passing by. Your list is scattered all over Scotland, so how much time do you have?

I was a bit disappointed with Stirling. The location and outside are fine, but the inside is all reproduction.

Not enough -if the other thread is accurate.
