Scotland: Cardross House B&B?

Hi Fodorites... contemplating places to stay close to Lake of Menteith/Stirling in July next year as the final 3 nights of our Scotland trip. Is anyone familiar with the Cardross House B&B. A large estate. A Wolsey lodge. Looks lovely. Also has rental apartments, and "shooting parties." Then I saw they also host the Down the Rabbit Hole music festival (in late August) and started to wonder if it was for us.

Lake of Menteith Hotel looks great, but a little steep in price for us.
Old Kippenross, another Wolsey lodge, may be a little too far East.

Will just be coming back from 3 days on Skye.
Want to visit Inchmahone Island (forgive spelling errors)... also Drummond Palace Gardens if time permits, and finally Stirling. So needs to be central to all three. Then it's to the airport and home.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Many thanks. You've been very helpful.

Not quite sure why a place doing special events would eliminate it from contention. I haven't stayed there but know the place, and it seems very nice indeed. ( It is the (Doune the Rabbit Hole BTW. It is just a small weekend music/family festival)

If you want a cheaper, simple but friendly/nice B&B - here is one even closer to the Lake. http://inchiefarm.co.uk

Thanks JanisJ... couldn't find a lot of online information about either the estate or the festival and wasn't sure Doune the Rabbit Hole was a one time thing, for there were others during the summer. Since we were going for quiet countryside, got worried that p'haps there'd be more.

Then Cardross is still in contention. But Inchie Farm looks very nice indeed!
