Scooter Rental in Rome
Hi...
I have read a few comments that refer to renting a scooter to tour around Rome. This sounds like something that my husband would love, and I would like to surprize him with it. However, I have had no luck with receiving ANY response from any of the scooter rental places that I have found on the internet. Can anyone recommend somewhere for me to rent a two seater scooter for the day in mid-October?
I look forward to any responses...
Cheers,
Tanya

I believe that HappyRent at www.hrincentives.com will do scooter rentals. We used them for a vintage vespa tour. Four drivers showed up on vintage vespas and we climbed on the back for a tour of Secret Rome. I know Rome well, and I was a little nervous about trying this out, but it turned out to be amazing. It was worth the 186 euros (which includes insurance, helmet, etc) The drivers were professional and very safety conscious. The tour itself allowed us to cover much more of the city than we could have on foot. Also we stopped at an artisan's shop for a little talk about restoring gold frames. I would highly recommend them. The owner is Stefano Lombardi.

I am a native New Yorker and think nothing of the traffic here. In fact, at times I have been known to scare cab drivers.
And I have no problem driving a car in rome -despite the facts that there are practically no traffic lights or stop signs and traffic operates primarily on the "chicken" principle (I'm not)
Separately, I used to have a boyfriend with a big bike and rode it with him quite often
But, you couldn't pay me enough money to try to ride a scooter in Rome - even as a passenger
