BTW.... We did rent a scooter the entire 5 nights we were in Positano! It was my favorite thing we did! So much fun and got to see so much!! And yes, we both lived! We are now married with a baby!

We have been to the Amalfi Coast 4 years in a row, going back in August. The past 3 years we rented a scooter and it has been fantastic. It opens you up to endless possibilties that public transportation and cabs just cant do. Yes the roads are crazy but if you slow down a little and even pull to the side once in a while to let a bus pass you will be fine. You will make spontaintious decissions ane see the true mountians and beaches while finding small local places to have something to eat or a drink. We actually had to stop to allow goats to pass one time being hearded by dogs and an old man. Go for it, it will be an experience you will never forget or regret. YOLO
