Schoenburg Castle, Germany
 

Hello there! My husband and I are planning a trip to this castle to stay for a few nights in a couple of weeks. Can anyone give me any details about what to see in the general vacanity or any insider tips about the castle itself?

where is this castle? Not in my Michelin green guide index of places?

Is this a castle - or is this a hotel you're asking aobut? And what town is it in/near?

It may be Auf Schoenburg Castle in Oberwesel on the Rhine River, a great place! We stayed there a few years ago and wished we had more time. There are a lot of sights and fun activities in that area: Rhine River cruise, castles, cute little towns. We especially enjoyed exploring the ruined castle in St. Goar.

It is the Castle in Oberwesel. We've done Rhine river cruises and spent time in St. Goar. I was just hoping for more info. Possibly any special vineyards nearby or anything else? I know we'll really enjoy spending time here. The Castle Schoenburg sounds great!

I checked Mapquest and it looks like you are less than an hour from Beilstein or Cochem on the Mosel River. And even less time to reach Burg Eltz. All of these would make a lovely day trip from Oberwesel.
