Scheveningen hotels

Family of four adults would like recommendations for a seaside hotel at Scheveningen. Will we find a room for four at any hotel - even by requesting a rollaway and paying extra per person? Also assume public transportation into The Hague city center is available? Thanks!

Hi
Scheveningen brings back memories. We were there many years ago. If memory serves, there was tourist office that made hotel reservation there. It was a really nice experience. I can't remember the name of the hotel, but there were many hi rise hotels there. Many right by the boardwalk. There were restaurants etc. along the boardwalk also.

Don't know any hotels there, but your query reminds me of this: I am told that during WWII a test for suspected spies (i.e. Germans seeking to pass as Dutch) was the pronunciation of this name.

Elizabeth -

Thanks for the history lesson. A friend of mine from the Netherlands spent 10 minutes trying to teach me how to pronounce Scheveningen, and I still can't say the name correctly!

Fifthborn - We enjoyed our day trip to Scheveningen (and den Hague) - we stayed in Delft - so I can't recommend a hotel, but there seemed to be an abundance of them available.

Tram 7 or 8 (ask at your hotel) will take you into den Hague and from there you can take Tram #1 to Delft, which is a lovely town worth exploring. All tram travel in and around Scheveningen/den Hague/Delft can be done with the Nationale Strippen Kaart.

Enjoy your time by the sea (we went there just to stick our toe in the North Sea, but it was so cold we only stuck our finger in). Peace.

Try the Kurhaus Hotel, a lovely 5* hotel right on the beach.
