Schengen Toursit and Student Visa at the same time?

I'm hoping there's someone on here who can help me with my dilemma.

Here's the deal: I'm from the Philippines where applying for a Schengen visa is required.

Here's the other deal: is it possible for me to apply for a tourist Schengen visa and a student visa in one passport?

Here's my travel plan: I'm to tour Europe on October with my boyfriend. We enter through UK (with a visa too of course) and travel straight to Sweden and tour around Europe, we'll be staying in Paris the longest, we end our October Eurotrip in the UK area.

On November im supposed to start a homestay program with a French family for 3 months "teaching" them English, while I go to a French language school for 1 month or 3 months, we will see whichever I can afford. At this rate I'm thinking one month of french is enough, but I want to do the homestay program for 3.

My question is, is it possible for the embassy to grant me two different kinds of visa in 1 passport? If not, do you have any suggestions how I can make this entire trip + program happen in that 4 months without me having to go back to the Philippines and reapplying again?

I think you need to contact the French embassy (who will need to give you the student visa) and ask them how to do it. Also look at the rues/regs online to see what info is provided.

Many people here don;t need Schengen visas and it's not likely that anyone here would have had the exact same situation from the Philippines..

Your only hope is to get a 4-month Type D visa for France, which will take in your Swedish trip as well as your French home stay.

They may issue two visas, with different start dates. You just have to ask.

The problem with our embassies here is, the number we call is just a call center where we set appointments. They don't answer any other visa questions and leave it up to us to research and mostly go about this blindly. We only find out on the day itself what kind of visa we should apply for or if we even have the right documents. It's very frustrating. But I suppose it's understandable coming from a country where there are thousands of illegal immigrants abroad. Sucks that even I have to be affected by that even if I want to go abroad legally.

Anyway thank you. I think type D visa is best and possibly multiple entry.
