Scenery in To Catch a Thief

I just watched the movie again last night and feel like I've already made the trip! Hope I'm not 50 years to late for some of what I saw. I tried the search feature and couldn't find a former thread on this. Does anyone know where some of the scenes were shot? Specifically the picnic scene, i.e, what were they overlooking? Also, any idea where John Robie's villa was maybe near? The thread I looked for told what corniche they were driving and now I can't remember. Were they on the upper or Moyenne?

I believe it was the upper Corniche - and I would suggest it has changed a lot since then - since tourism to the Riviera has more than tripled since then.

Hopingtotravel, it was at the same spot where Princess Grace last control of her car the winding road of Cap-D'Ail.

I love that movie... wishing I was there now!

Thanks. Not having been there I was trying to recognize the headlines and villages from maps and descriptions here.

I found this older thread while searching for a related topic. In my opinion (seconded by my husband), the villa is just opposite the Chateau de la Chevre d'Or (in Eze). We saw the movie after returning from a visit there and were delighted to recognize the oppposing view from our room!
