I am just curious that if after you pay if you get any additional confirmation of your tickets? We received notice for our trip in July and I sent the credit card information last week. I didn't know if that was it or if there is something else I will get back in return confirming I've paid.

I never got an additional confirmation that I had paid but I saw the charge appear my credit card statement. I just showed up at the scavi office at tour time with my confirmation number and it was OK. They are kind of cranky in that office, LOL.

That's right. There's no additional confirmation-yeah, I'd say vivi was right, they are a bit "officious" in that office now aren't they? (but that's sort of typical with the Vatican, anyway, has been my experience!)

Bill- I wrote separate reports on Rome, Florence, Naples, CT, Venice.

Also I made a point of finding the turtle fountain in Rome! I walked in circles and asked every few feet it seems, finally I saw it, very charming!

I paid for my Scavi tour the same day I got the reservation email. I had a
"receipt" email the next day.

This was a two weeks ago for a July 2nd tour...........

I did receive a confirmation email that my email was received the next day, but I don't believe it was a receipt. It was the same email I received when I sent in a request for the tour.

My second email was definitely different than the first.

This time there was a category in addition to a subject that read: Ricevuta

Below that it read
RECEIPT OF PAYMENT for the tickets to the Necropolis under the Basilica. There was an additional number after the reference number.

I'm sure it's fine, but check with the credit card company to see if a charge went through.

I'm actually going July 3 at 9:15am.

I cant believe it,I received their reply this morning with the reservation number for for July 13th .

I feel very lucky considering that I sent my request May 23th.

Yea!!! I just received my confirmation for the Scavi tour on August 4th. I received an automated reply once I sent my credit card info.

I requested my Scavi tickets back in March or April (for July) and heard that we had gotten tickets last week. (yay!) I sent my credit card info in on 5/23 and got my confirmation email on 5/28 or 5/29, so at least for me there was a 5-day or so wait after I sent in my card info. I have to say that the office was actually really good to deal with-- when I originally requested the tickets, I mistakenly requested the wrong date; when they emailed me to offer me the tickets, I realized my mistake and emailed them to explain my error and request (nicely) my correct date(s). A few days later, I got an email confirming my tickets for the correct date (thankfully!) Anyways, it should be a great tour. Happy travels!

Thanks everyone. I did receive an actual payment confirmation email yesterday, so, we're all set!!

we got out paid receipt a few days ago as well....all set for 6/30!

GoJumbos, if you happen to read this again - when you emailed to request the change in date, did you do it when you sent in your payment info or did you request the change and then pay when they confirmed your new date?

I did the same thing you did and have emailed back asking for an alternate date but did this in response to the email I received? I would appreciate any guidance as we really don't want to miss this!

Hi Stella-

I requested the new dates first and then got an emai offering me tickets for the date I wanted, at which time I responded with my credit card info, etc. Hope this helps!
