Scavi Tour: I got an automatic response over 2 weeks ago, but nothing since. Is this normal?

From what I have gleaned from these boards, most people heard back within a few days to a week. Our requested date is in mid-June, so I sent the request about 2.5 weeks ago. I got the automatic email that they had received my request but nothing since. Is this normal or should I call/fax/re-email in another few days if I still have not heard anything? Thank you so much!

I have sent two emails to them for our trip in September, and haven't heard anything from them-- not even the automatic response, so I'm wondering, too.

Am I writing to them too far in advance of our trip?

I sent a request on April 1, got an automatic response in a couple days and nothing since then. We leave on Monday. I went ahead and booked a different tour on the day I requested. If we have time after we get there maybe I'll see if we can get in, I'm not going to get too upset, plenty other things to see and do, if it's not to be this time around.

Hmmm, so perhaps they only get back to you if they can give you a spot? (i.e., if you didn't get in, you hear nothing). I guess I might as well try faxing them (different MO) in a week. I'll post if I get a response that way!

I *believe* that they only accept reservations within 60 days of your dates?
I've booked it 3x (went twice) and waited until the 59th day to email them.
I don't recall whether I got this info from an official site or from another poster.
Also it could have been 90days but I think it's 60. Regards, Walter

Thanks, Walter.

I have sent two requests for a tour on either 31 May or 1 June. This was done 3-4 weeks ago. I have heard nothing from either of the requests.
I don't know if it would be useful to try again or wait until we get in Rome and see when/if we have anything.

I waited three weeks for a response from them, and our tour is on May 31.

Sera - I think we requested our tour about the same time you did, but we needed it between May 15 & 21, so perhaps we asked too late. Also asekd for space for 3 - maybe it was full.

I emailed in March for tickets for early July. I received the automated reply within a couple of days but nothing since then. I'm frustrated too!

I got my reservations today. They are for 1 June.
I had all but given up hope of hearing anything.
All is not lost. :-)

I also heard back today for a June 7th reservation. It took at least a month.

Just an update for anyone waiting to hear about a scavi tour-- I sent a request on April 10 for a tour in September, and just received our confirmation today. I never did receive an automatic response.

Anyway, don't give up hope if it takes a while to get a response.

We were getting worried too - sent request on March 15th and received automatic email immediately. We FINALLY got the reservations on May 25th - so a little over 2 months - the reservations are for Sept. 28th. I think they DO try to take care of everyone - but they just have some kind of crazy sporadic schedule.
