I get dizzy on the edge of a curb looking over. My dates always had to buy orchestra seats because I couldn't sit in the balcony. I couldn't get past the first level of the Eifel Tower.
I love the London Eye. My faithful traveling companion really wanted to take the ride and since I knew there were benches in the center of the cabs where if worse came to worst, I could sit and bury my nose in a book, I went along. Within two minutes I was standing practically against the window, watching London go by. We still have to buy orchestra seats. |
The only thing abut sitting on the bench is that if the pod is crowded, everyone else will be lined up along the window and you'll end up seeing very little. So you'd be best to find a quieter time to go.

i was just wondering.. how big is each pod? i've seen it from afar, but not close up. i had the idea that they were really small and only a few people could be in one pod at a time. thats why i stayed away.... i'm glad to hear more about it. thanks!

The pods are quite large, hold at least 30 people if I recall. If you are really flush, you can rent one for a cocktail party or wedding reception.

For the pod size try photo 3 here: http://www.webbuild.net/londoneye/
The rest of the photos should give you a good idea what it is like. |
