Scandinavian Airlines Sale

Never flown this airline, but have heard really good things about them. Got an email from Kayak this evening - we can fly to France from Dulles for $1708.69 for two in March - think we'll buy tomorrow and go back to St-Cirq for a month. $700 cheaper than Air France for the same period.

BTW, the Kayak link absolutely did not work for me - it wouldn't let me select the right dates. The SAS official website worked a whole lot better!

Don't set your expectations too high. SAS dodged bankruptcy this week by the hair on its herrings. http://atwonline.com/airline-finance...tcy-fears-1119

We flew them a few years back and they were fine. that sounds like an ok fare. Last week I bought our tixs for Paris this winter and paid $925 each on UA. Fares are already back up.

Oooooh, Ok, Gardyloo. Thanks for that.

Any opinions on Turkish Air? I have a couple friends who have flown it recently and said to avoid it.

SkyTrax has an opinion on Turkish Air:

http://www.worldairlineawards.com/aw...011/europe.htm

Turkish Airlines wins the Best Airline in Europe award for 2011 "Turkish Airlines continues to invest in quality product and service concepts and this has been key in their success at this years awards. We have witnessed a steady rise up the global rankings for Turkish, and this has seen them enter the top-10 (9th) for the first time. To secure the award for Best Premium Economy Seat is further evidence that Turkish Airlines is providing passengers with a world class onboard experience."

I remember an SAS flight many years ago. We were sitting "upstairs" and saw the pilots coming and going. One of them was the handsomest blonde I've ever seen. -:) (Well, it could be the deciding factor in chosing an airline.)

Also had good experience with Turkish Airlines.
