Scandinavian airline (SAS)

Hi!!

It will be our first time to travel this airline to Stockholm. I've been doing a search on this forum for comments about this airline but couldn't find any. Is this airline comparable to say British Air?? or is it better or worse (ie courteousness, handling of luggage problems etc.) We don't mind about tightness of compartment (they use Boeing jets so we have a pretty good idea) or even food. Just a general like or dislike about the airline. Appreciate your comments. Thanks.

I have flown BA 767 followed by SAS 767. The SAS gave more leg room. I have not lost luggages thru either airline (knock on wood.) The rest of what you are looking for is subjective. I personally give BA food a little over SAS food, but I felt BA crews more regimented than SAS. But these kind of things depend on what you are used to.

If you are flying with children, I was impressed with how much attention the SAS stewardesses paid to the children sitting in front of us.

Used SAS to go to Scandinavia in July. They were fine; on time, plenty of room, food good for an airline and cabin staff were helpful and courteous. Compared favorably to BA.

I too remember the food as a little dreary. Didn't matter so much on the redeye enroute there, but I could have used some supplies on the flight back. Also had no luggage problems, and for what it's worth, neither did the woman traveling with her infant son via a series of connections from Anchorage. The main thing to like about SAS, though, is that it'll take you direct to Stockholm--that plus good deals on flights within Scandinavia if you've booked SAS for the overseas trip. Have a great time in Stockholm!

I recently took an SAS flight from Brussels to Stockholm. Everything was fine, but the plane's decor seemed a little tire (but it was a DC-9, can't even remember the last time I flew in one of those!). Staff were pleasant and efficient.
