Scandinavia - which is the better tour?
I would really appreciate it if those who have been to Scandinavia would check out the tours by Tauck and Odysseys Unlimited and tell me which you feel is the better one.
Thanks in advance! |
Sigh... I know Tauck is a quality company and Odysseys looks similar. But both the tours I checked give short shrift to Stockholm... which to my mind is the highlight of any trip to Scandinavia (along with Copenhagen). Scenery lovers gravitate to Norway. If you think you might return to Scandinavia on your own the tour might give you an idea of places you'd wish to visit again.

P.S. Maybe if you posted some web addresses you'd get more opinions. (I'm an old lady with too much time on my hands -:)

Without a link to the tours how would we know anything?

I think folks want links to the specific tours you are considering to be able to give you feedback.
We were in Denmark, Sweden and Norway this spring. We did our trip on our own and we loved every place we went. Wonderful people, great history and architecture and food. |
We've reserved a Scandinavian tour through Oddysseys-Unlimited
for next year. But like a previous poster said, Stockholm isn't given enough time. We're adding 4 nights on our own in Copenhagen at the beginning of the tour and 5 nights in Stockholm on our own at the end of the tour. (Also, going to Tallin for 4 nights after that). We like the combination of guided tour and self-tour.....you get the best of both worlds. We did something like that with the Odysseys Unlimited Southern Italy tour this summer and it was great. We really like their tours and the fact that they are small group. Don't know if Tauck is small group, also. |
