Scandinavia roadtrip !
 

My best friend and I are doing a trip this summer to Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
It's literally a last minute trip that was decided over Skype and we purchased our tickets 3 days ago. Now we are in the middle of planning our trip and need some feedback on our trip.

The idea is to do the following

Day 1 Tallinn
Day 2 Tallinn -> Helsinki via Ferry
Day 3 Helsinki: -> Turku via Train
Day 4 Turku -> Stockholm via 10 hour ferry)
Day 5 Stockholm (visiting friends) via Car
Day 6 Stockholm (visiting friends) via Car
Day 7 Stockholm -> Skinskattesberg via Car
Day 8 Skinskattesberg -> Norway via Car
Day 9 Norway via Car
Day 10 Norway -> Bergen via Car
Day 11 Bergen -> Troll Tunga via Car
Day 12 Troll Tunga -> Oslo via Car
Day 13 Oslo -> Gotenburg via Car
Day 14 Gotenburg -> Copenhagen via Car
Day 15 Copenhagen via Car
Day 16 Copenhagen via Car

I would appreciate if we could get some feedback on this trip and more importantly where we should go on the days labeled Norway

These are some of things we are planning on doing
Tallinn - Old Town, KGB museum and roaming around (pirita)
Helsinki - with friends
Turku - that pig sculpture?
Stockholm - Royal garden, Vasa Museum, roaming around maybe going to one of the small islands dotting stockholm for the a day.
Skinskattesberg -
Bergen - roaming around town and checking out the fjord/bay
Trolltunga - hike up and sleep in a cabin
Oslo - City and museums
Gothenberg - Not sure yet
Copenhagen - Note sure yet

IMHO you are going to WAY too many palces and will spend most of your time in transit.

Having acar in Copenhagen is a nonsense - just an expense that you can;t use. The Stroget is pedestrian and most sights are within easy walking distance. And bouncng back and forth between Norway and Sweden doesn;t make sense either.

Frankly I much prefer Sweden and Denmark to Norway - which is too much country for me. Yes, the fjords are gorgeous - but the rest of te country is quite flat, scrub oak and not a lot to look at. (But being from NY I;m used to beautiful, wooded rolling, hilly countryside - Norway is very stark.

We prefer to drive across the country and being free from scheduling to do whatever we want. For us it's not so much to see the cities but the country side.

The car will be ditched as soon as we arrive to Copenhagen in favor of bicycles.

I suspect that there are heavy cross-border drop-off fees on car rentals in Scandinavia. It probably would be better to use public transportation to go from one country to another.

Make sure you check out how to pay road tolls, especially in Norway - where you also have to pay to take a car into Oslo and Bergen. You could end up with some very expensive bills to pay later if you don't.

You also need to check what it will cost of a one-way car hire - it could be very high.

We already checked and with a coupon the car the rate we found is acceptable. It's all done through a fairly large car rental company, Europecar, and they accept one way cross country rentals.

thanks for the feedback on the toll and city-car free. I'll check them asap.

What we need is some feedback on what to do after skinskatteberg. If anyone has some suggestions on where to go from there on. That would be great ! Thank you!
