Hi....family of 5 (Mom, Dad and three little ones)going to Scandinavia summer 2007. We would like to be near water and rent a cottage/summer home for a week.

I'm almost afraid to think of what kind of responses you'll get in such a broad question. First of all, Scandinavia is quite big and consists of at least 4 countries - Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. Which of these countries do you plan on visiting? We'll start from there.

OK - presumeably since you are talking this July you have already bought your plane tix (or have at least priced them out) - right? So - which country are you flying in to?

also - what research have you already done? There are quite literally thousands of places you could go so have you narrowed it down at all?

Hi....we are open to ideas, but let's say Sweden to start.

For Sweden, I would suggest, Halland in the southern coast near Denmark or Götland and Öland islands, again in the southeast by the Baltic Sea.

Finland is not part of Scandinavia.
