I'm planning to travel to Scandinavia next summer. My trip will include Stockholm, Copenhagen, Odense, Aeroskobing, Oslo and Bergen.

Does anyone know of good, cozy B&B's located near the attractions in each of those cities?

Any suggestions as to attractions, must-see's (or things to avoid) would be welcome.

As my wife and I learned a couple of years ago when we were planing our trip to Scandinavia, the Scandinavian countries really don't have B&B's like say England, New Zealand or the U.S. The best we were able to do was to stay at small local hotels. There are homestays and questhouses, but not B&B's as are generally perceived.

I was glad to see you included AEroskobing as part of your travels. It was one of the highlights on our trip. I also noticed you are planning to go to Odense, the home of Hans Christain Anderson. My wife is an elementary school librarian so we were looking forward to our visit to Odense. Hope you are not disappointed like we were. Very commercial and the two old streets are surrounding by tall modern buildings. We would highly recommend a visit to Frederiksborg Castle, which is north of Copenhagen. It was fantastic.

You can find useful information about hotels and youth hostels and other tourist information. A popular youth hostel is the boat Af Chapman! You must visit the Old Town and the archipelago in Stockholm!

I have been to all the cities you mentioned. Me and my husband did a vacation in Denmark(drove from Fredrikshavn to Copenhagen and all major citites) in 3 weeks a few years ago. We stayed at youth hostels. There are beaches, Legoland and Copenhagen and other cities to visit and enjoy.

Hi! Glad to hear you advice about Stockholm. When you and your husband stayed at the youth hostels were you able to stay in the same room? Many say that male and female are separated.

I am planning to visit Sweden in June, and was thinking of taking a train from Paris to Copenhagen and then a ferry to Landskrona. Does anyone have information on the ferries from Copenhagen?

As well, what is the best way to travel to Stockholm from Landskrona?

Laura: Yes, there are rooms with 4 beds, called family rooms. We were a pary of 4 persons when we travelled. Make reservations... Elisabet

The local tourist bureaus in the various <BR>towns are a great help in finding local accomodations. Everyone speaks English <BR>in these bureaus and by the way they are <BR>excellent places to pick up postcards and small local souvenirs, in addition <BR>to telling you about their local tourist <BR>attractions. <BR>

The HI hostel in Odense is beautiful and quiet, in an old manor house on a wooded lot with a cobblestone courtyard. They have two and four bed rooms there, I believe. The hostel near legoland in Billund also has family rooms for four and the bathrooms are ensuite there. Luxurious for a hostel. we enjoyed it. Visit St. Knud's church in Odense and see old King Canute's actual 900-year-old skeleton under the altar. Don't miss Legoland. The rides are mostly for little kids but the miniature lego cities and towns and models are amazing. Between 6 and 8 PM you can go in for free and look at them. Have fun.
