Scandanavian Highlights
What are some MUST SEE places in Scandanavia in the Fall if we are visiting Copenhagen in September?!
|
How much time do you have?
Who and how many are your? Any special interests? Are you asking about places just in Copenhagen. Or day trips? Or actualy going to other parts of Scandinavia. |
We have approx 4-5 days through a week to play with.It is just my husband and me.We love cultural but also scenic and nature bound. We are interested in Copenhagen for sure but are willing to travel anywhere in Scandanavia that is doable in that amount of time-- or should we stay focused in a certain region? We want to see as much as possible!!!
|
i don't recommend that you try to go all around scandinavia in a week (and certianly not in 4-5 days).
if it were me, i would stay in denmark and visit skagen for a few days. this is a very scenic place. even if you take a week and split it between copenhagen and a place like skagen, you will not have a lot of spare time. the "must sees" of scandinavia are quite spread out and you do not have enough time in one week. |
Stay in Copenhagen with a possible detour up along the coast in the north.
Copenhagen is a major city with a lot of interesting sites and activities. |
Hi walkin,
Guess you are an expert. So what would be your must sees in Copenhagen? I will have a day and a half. Not going really to see the city - going because it is the only place I could find after extensive research where I could go in the evening to a theatre and see a class dance performance. But I will have a day - thinking some wandering, and maybe a visit to the Glyptotek. Would it be a big sin not to go to Tivoli? |
Yes - it would be a sin not to see Tivoli - esp the fireworks. Brings back al the fun of childhood.
There are also a couple of Royal Palaces looking at and several other museums. |
Hi
What about the Norwegian fjords? Check out www.norwayinanutshell.com . If you fly to Stavanger from Copenhagen you can check out places like Preikestolen (the Pulpit rock): http://gardkarlsen.com/preikestolen.htm Regards Gard |
