Saw Airbus A380 today
got my first live view of the A380 today at farnborough. it was doing some steep climbs and almost 90% banks and then a dive. surrounded in formation by the red arrows. looked very cool...and huge.

The word I hear from pilots (friends of retired pilot friends) is that this whale actually handles well.
Best of luck to Airbus figuring out the wiring customization problems -- I wish both Boeing and Airbus well in coming up with better planes for the industry.
It will be interesting how the overall travel market plays out in the next few years, and how much room there is for any of the plane models coming online and planned, geared to diferent markets and travel objectives.

From August 11, it is going to be in the Munich area for a few weeks as they monitor landings & take-offs.
A 747 will be with it to check the wakes produced etc from both aircraft.
Today Singapore Airlines ordered another 9 x A380's and 20 of the new A350
The number of passengers will be a maximum of 550, airlines such as Qantas have said that they will carry around 498 and they promise more room for everyone.

To the question about immigration queues, I would add the following:
Are the airports adding parallel jetways, or are 550 people going to be disembarked through the same doors that now have a hard time accommodating 300?
Are the airports re-engineering their baggage-handling facilities to handle the load peaks these flying monstrosities will cause?
Will their greater operating efficiency lower my airfares?
In other words: what's in it for me?
Or is the A380 just another Stupid Idea Whose Time Has Come?
