Save-your-back bag/backpack

I have a save-your-back bag I bought several years ago. It converts to a backpack; there's a zipper in the strap for dividing it and 2 d-rings for attaching the divided strap in backpack mode.

I bought this bag from one of the travel equipment catalogs, like Travelsmith or Magellans, but I can't remember which one. Now my niece would like to buy a similar bag, and I can't find it anywhere.

Can anybody suggest a place to buy this?

You might try:

www.ebags.com

I've seen many posters recommend them for various bags. I've never used them myself.

Have you checked www.rei.com? They have all sorts of awesome items.

I think Rick Steves sells a soft sided suitcase with staps that can be pulled out, clipped on and made into a backpack. You might want to check out his website.

Doesn't it have a brand name on it? If so, you can Google for that name and you might find a vendor.

I can't quite picture what you are describing, but Baggalini brand has some bags that convert to backpack things (or Bagallini). AAA used to carry them but stopped, but you can still find them online.

I am pretty sure I bought mine on Magellans. I would look there. I just went on there last week for something else and thought I saw them.

Mimar, could you have purchased it from Norm Thompson? They have something like you describe in their catalogs and on their web site:

HMM, just took a quick look at Magellan's and I don't see them. I will have to think because I know I just bought another travel pillow last week, and bought it from them. I was poking around in a few other sites though.

Thanks shadowcat, that bag looks interesting. I've seen similar ones on occasion on overstock.com, but w/o the save your back "promise". I like that name, shadow cat, ooohh.

Also look at www.eaglecreek.com/
Expensive, but 5 European and many local trips later, still in mint condition.
