Saunas in Sweden, Norway and Denmark???

Do the Swedes, Norwegians and Danes take saunas? If so, is the sauna etiquette in those contries the same as in Finland?

Most newer and more expensive hotels in these countries do usually have saunas. They're not as common in private homes as they are in Finland (where probably 99% of homes have a sauna).

Don't know about the etiquette, but I assume it's the same everywhere. In other words, in private homes and with your family members you'd go in naked, but in public saunas you'd wear either a bathing suit or wrap a towel around you. Unless of course, you reserve the sauna all for yourself, as you often can in hotels.
Be sure to bring plenty of fluids for drinking, since you'll sweat a lot, shower both before and after going in, and take a dip in the pool or a lake, where available. Enjoy!

Benita
