If you want to stay somewhere very nice... try this. It is out in the countryside but well worth it.

Otherwise, Saumur is great and the wines are fantastic.

Wow, copain! That place looks fabulous! Any idea of the rates (not listed on the website)? Thanks.

I think the rates are different for each room. Sorry for the delayed response.

A+

I notice no one mentioned Tours. We stayed at the Best Western Central. and went to Saumur, Chinnon, Blois, and many other chateaus. We found it central located and easy to get to the hotel. It also had several good resturants... just an option. Visit my site emilyandjim.info

How is the restaurant at the Anne d'Anjou??

Langcraft Feb 18th, 2008 03:12 AM

Cparris:

I have eaten @ Les Menestrels, which is the restaurant affiliated with the Anne d'Anjou hotel. The food is delightful, the dining room lovely but the meals can get pricey very quickly: http://www.restaurant-les-menestrels.com/cadre.asp.

Lunch ran about $135 Euros for two including aperitifs and a bottle of wine, but not counting an extra $15 Euros that I left for our waiter. If you wish to splurge, this is a nice place to do it.
