Iberia

We are planning on a trip to Italy in July. I noticed yesterday a drop in prices and have also noticed Iberia seems to have the best prices from ORD to Pisa and returning FCO to ORD. Does anyone have comments on Iberia airlines? I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks

In coach they are about as good as most other non-Asian carriers, apart from the food, which has been quite dismal the last few times I have flown with them.

I am also planning to use them for a trip to Italy (Naples) this spring because their prices are the best I can find on that route (from JFK).

I must say I was not aware IB flies direct between NY and Italy. You sure it doesn't require a stopover in Madrid or Barcelona?

I've flown them only within Europe. Flights were ok, recall it was A300. They are OneWorld member, so should be compatible with AA mileage. The only gripe I have is that they don't have self-check in kiosks outside of Spain and no internet check-in (to the best of my knowlwdge), and the check in counter is always understaffed.

Service in coach is typical for European carriers; the food is a matter of taste. The terminals that IB use at Madrid airport are pretty wonderful (although they're huge) - makes changing planes easy. MAD-PSA will be served with an Air Nostrum regional jet; FCO-MAD with an A320.

Longhaul business class on IB is quite good, and also well priced.
