With the exception of the Costa Smeralda (which we visited) and the south/southeast parts of Sardinia (which we didn't have time for), I thought the island was a fabulous, enchanting destination. I don't want it to become spoiled so I tried to avoid a glowing trip report, but the few people that are reading this that have been there will know what I mean.
I appreciate your comments, Wantagig, and will just say that the Riviera and the Su Gologone are definitely 2 different types of experiences, most obviously in their locations - the former being a seaside village and the latter being isolated in the mountains 6km from any village. The Su Gologone is really more about the food - known to be about the best on the island. It is not a traditional resort experience - its far less glamorous than that. But whatever, it was all a great vacation!
