Sardinia or Gran Canaria or Mallorka?

We are planning next summer to visit our relatives in Europe and decided to go on beach holiday on one of these islands. We have 7 yr old twins. We are looking for a nice relaxing holiday with beautiful beach close by, nice little restaurants and ice cream shops...What island would you recommed? Our time of travel is beg. of July. I am leaning towards Sardinia as the beaches are amazing (on the pictures)...what would be nice area to stay in Sardinia? San Teodoro...Santa Teresa...Stintino??? Thanks for any help!

Well we have a 6 year old and will be heading for.....

Santa Teresa this year. If it is any help that you are on the right tracks as we went to Mallorca last July.

This will be our 5th trip to north east Sardinia, we love it. The Sardinians are, in our experience the warmest Italians around, the seafood is good and the beaches are simply the best in Europe. Some of NE Sardinia can be a little over the top (15 euros for a coffee) but Santa Teresa is a lovely middle market place.

Good, cost effective hotels are difficult to find, we usually rent houses. Try Conca Verde which is 5 miles from Santa Teresa.

ps Gran Canaria isn't geographically in Europe it is a long way south.

If you want to consider Mallorca then Soller and Colonia San Jordi are good options for families.
