Sardana in Barcelona

Will there be Sardana dancers on Sunday, 20 December in the city. If yes, when and where? Thank you.

They usually dance at 12 noon in the plaza in front of the Cathedral in El Born. But we were just in Barcelona on Sunday November 22 and they did not dance. A police officer in the plaza told us they are not dancing until after the holidays because of the holiday decorations set up in the plaza. Don't know whether that is accurate, or whether they just didn't dance that day for some reason.

Besides the caveat of CGS, if it rains they do not dance either.

<the Cathedral in El Born>

Guess I understand what you mean, but there is no cathedral and usually no sardanas dancing in El Born, but in front of the cathedral in Plaça Nova close to the Born district: http://www.barcelonaturisme.com/wv3/...cathedral.html

Should not be confused with the excellent Gothic Santa Maria del Mar Church in El Born, also known as the "Cathedral of the sea" after the bestselling novel about Barcelona in times of the construction of the church in the 14th century: http://www.barcelonaturisme.com/wv3/en/page/423/.html

With the hope clarifying matters rather than confusing them farther. La Sardana is danced in the plaza in front of:

Catedral de la Santa Creu i Santa Eulalia and is Catalan for Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia. The commonly used name La Seu refers to the status of the church as the seat of the diocese.

When last I was in Barcelona, there was dancing in front of the cathedral both on Saturday and Sunday.
