Sao Miguel Hotel or airbnb recommendations
 

Hi All- I will be in the Azores in Mid March and am looking for recommendations for hotels or airbnbs. I will be landing in Sao Miguel and staying for a few days with a rental car. Is any area recommended?

It depends on your budget and cost per night that you expect to pay. There are lots of hotels and apartments in the Ponta Delgada area to choose from, so you could start your search on somewhere like booking.com, find somewhere you like and check prices in the web.

We have an upcoming trip to Ponta Delgada, then to Pico, and for Ponta Delgada we've chosen the moderately priced Santa Clara 1828, an Aparthotel.
Our runner-up was Casa do Galeria-Azores Art of Hosting. Both have top ratings on booking.com

We looked at the large Octant, right at the water, but we just prefer something smaller.

There are some gorgeous hotels on other parts of the island, like Herdade do Ananás (in a pineapple plantation), Senhora da Rosa, Santa Bárbara Eco Beach Resort, Sul Villas, White (right at the ocean's edge, which our friends said was an absolute "wow"-a Mr. & Mrs. Smith's property), but we wanted to base in Ponta Delgada for logistical reasons.
