Santorini wedding coordinator advice

My fiancee and I are planning a September wedding on the island of Santorini, and we are hoping some readers on the forum will be able to help us select a wedding coordinator to plan the event. The wedding party will simply be the two of us, but we are still looking for all of the "bells and whistles" of a traditional wedding (Greek musicians, videographer, photographer, etc). We've contacted several coordinators and have heard back from three so far:

1. Wedding Design Santorini
2. Kivotos of Aegean Travel
3. Weddings In Santorini

The average price for all we are looking for is around 2500 Euros. Has anyone had any experience with any of these coordinators, or can anyone recommend another company/coordinator with whom they have had a positive experience?

We will be spending 10 days on the island, and are anxious for our visit (and to be married in paradise!)

Thanks so much, and we look forward to hearing some replies.

Happy travels to you all!

Hi,

i may help you with a photographer. Me and my wife are an internationally known photographer team, members of the American Wedding Photojournalist Association, a prestigious organization with worldwide best wedding photographers. We will be on Santorini in late September on holiday, and we are looking for couples and weddings to make some photo sessions. The price will be a special offer because we want to do it for fun and portfolio. We have done international destination weddings but never on Santorini. Please contact me at: [email protected]

We used Weddings in Santorini for our wedding 5 years ago. They organised a photographer (very reasonable), musicians, dancers etc. We didn't opt for the videographer but were very happy with the musicians and photographer.

They also organised a boat trip for our guests the day before the wedding which was a big hit and a great way for the wedding party to get to know each other.

There was no messing with prices, i.e. the wedding cost pretty much exactly what we expected it to cost, so if you want to stick to your budget it should be easy for you to do a costing from the outset and not have any nasty surprises.

Overall we were happy with Weddings in Santorini.
I haven't heard of either of the other two organisers, but that doesn't mean anything!

Best of luck to you, it's a magical magical place and you will have the most romantic day to remember. We're going back to Santorini for our 5th anniversary this September and can't wait.

If you need any help with details just post. I don't check on here that often but I'll pick it up eventually.

Wow I hadn't seen that one (and it is a more recent experience than mine). The person mentioned in that report, Evangelia, was one of the people we dealt with.

Originally we dealt with Helena, who was our organiser, but she was away when we were getting married and Evangelia dealt with the practicalities of the wedding and we had to settle the finances with her. I thought she was fine, she seemed to be one of the owners, but I didn't have a huge amount of contact with her. I'd certainly do a bit of research to see if that person was alone in their bad experience or if there are more.

I do know that after I got married I was in touch with another person (through Fodors or one of the other travel websites) who used them the following year, and was very happy with how it all worked out, so our experience wasn't necessarily uncharacteristic.

Whatever planner you opt for, I'd be happy to answer any questions about logistics / preparations, if you need it.

best regards

jane

Hi!
I just got back from Santorini where my girfriend (wife now) and I got married at Agia Irene chapel with the help of a great wedding planner called Stella. She was very helpful and she also arranged our accommodation and a small honeymoon including Ios island and Athens with a city tour and a visit to the Acropolis, all the transfers, a car rental and of course a nice dinner for the two of us after the wedding since we had no guests. I personally recommend her to you and everyone who would like to have a nice destination wedding in beautiful Santorini. Here's her website:
