My wife and I (23 & 25) will be in santorini at the end of august and i'd like to know what part of the island is reccomended , is there really a major difference?. Also any suggestions on better hotels would be useful , thanx. <BR>zeke

Oia is the beautiful town of blue domes and whitewashed buildings you see on so many Greek postcards-- the ultimate Greek island town. Fira is more down to earth (even though it's on top of a cliff) and has more restaurants and nightlife. Can't give you the names of hotels, but the ones dug into the cliff at Oia look really great.

Hello... <BR> <BR>Oia is verry verry nice and more quiet than Fira... But in Fira, the Santorini Palace is a verry nice place to stay.. <BR>Have a nice vacation... <BR>Gilbert <BR>

I suggest staying in Imerovigli. Its located just outside of Fira. We stayed on the caldera & had excellent views of the sunset, Oia & Fira. And it was very quiet too.
