Santorini in Oct. - hotel?

My husband & I are mid-fifties, making our first trip to Greece. We'd like a nice hotel, but don't need top-of-the-line and would like to keep it under 140 euros per night, if possible. Quiet location, but within walking distance of sites, restaurants, bus, etc. Any suggestions?

Check Delfini Hotel, Chelidonia Villas, Villa Ilias, Laokasti Villas, Scirocco Apartments, Blue Dolphins Apartments, Anemomilos Hotel, Musses Studios, Studios Margarita, and Stelios Rooms.

We stayed here 3 years ago and loved the quiet location. It was a short walk up hill to the town. Cheap, clean'friendly and a good pool!
Highly recommended. They pick you up from airport or ferry for no extra cost too.

We're set up at Hotel Anemomilos! Any recommendations on favorite restaurants or little known spots, sights to see?

Thanks for all of your help!

The restaurant at the Anemomilos is actually quite good for basic Greek food, and just a short way away towards the center of Oia is the Laokasti Restaurant, another excellent choice. If you want more upscale food there's 1800, Feredini, Ambrosia, and Ambrosia&Nectar. Another authentic Greek restaurant is Neptune, right next to the village square. If you want something other than Greek food there's an excellent Indonesian restaurant, Karma. Also, try to get down to Katina's on the wharf at Amoudi below Oia, and for watching the sunset over a meal Kastro is fantastic.

The Anemomilos is within easy walking distance to Oia's Sigalas Winery, well-worth a visit if you like wine.

brotherlee, I know others have said it, but I'll echo it: You are wonderful! And we thoroughly enjoy wine, so thanks for that extra tidbit. Thank you again for taking the time to help us plan our trip. If you're ever coming to New Orleans (where we call home), I hope I can return the favor.

Thanks for the kind words. :-)

If you go to Laokasti be sure to ask for some of the home-made local table wine, not to be confused with the regular commercial bulk house wine normally served. It's not red or white, but more a shade of pale yellow-orange. Beware, it's a few % stronger than normal.
