Santorini Flight Check In - DId He Do the Wrong Thing???

Kids are in Athens right now. Haven't heard from them in days and DH got an email from Aegean AIr to check in for their flight tomorrow to Santorini (we bought tix as a gift using his email). So he checked in for them. THe email went on to say that now they had to bring boarding passes to airport .

Now he's worried he did the wrong thing - what if the girls can't print the boarding passes?? Can they still get on the flight? Can they just check in at airport anyway if they can't print these boarding passes??

Thanks.

I expect they will be fine. We have checked in from hotels with no printer available, and they checked us in anyway; and son was able to check in even though father had already done it from home. Even if dad checked, say, `no checked baggage,'' the girls can change it.

you can send them the boarding pass through an email, and they can print it outat their hotel in Athens.

If this is not possible, kids will have to check in their luggage anyway, the clerk at the counter will give them another boarding pass.

Since you have already reserved the seats, there is nothing to be worried about.

There is also a facility for printing out boarding passes next to the Aegean ticket counter at Athens Airport. I have used it myself when I didn't have a boarding pass printed out. Actually it's not even necessary to check in online for the flights, but it does speed things up when you do.

they will have to check in their luggage anyway, so pre check in only has the meaning of reserving the seat of their choice....

There is a luggage drop off point for passengers who have checked in online and have boarding passes. They drop off their bags and proceed to the departure gate without having to line up at the check-in counters. That's what I meant by speeding things up. Nevertheless, it is okay to go though the check-in line whether they have boarding passes or not.

Thanks again for all the responses and tips. They just texted me and all is well. Just in case, it is nice to know about how to print to boarding passes at the airport - thanks Heimdall!
