Santorini Bus Travel to/from Airport/Port
 

Hi - I was hoping I would be able to get some information regarding getting a bus from the Port to Fira town rather than taking the taxi. Where can you find the bus after getting off the ferry? How much is it? Our hotel is close to the bust station in Fira which will make it that much easier for us.

Also, when we leave - can we get a bus from the Fira bus station to the airport? If so, how much is it?

There's a bus at the port every time a ferry arrives. It's either a large teal-green bus or a cream-colored bus with teal-green trim, both are used. Baggage storage is underneath. Get aboard and find a seat. After the bus is full and leaves the port someone comes around to collect your money. The fare is 1.6 euro into Fira.

To be sure that you get a seat on the bus you need to try to be in the first wave of people getting off the ferry.

A bus to the port leaves Fira about an hour before a ferry departs. You will see a schedule posted outside the little building at the bus square.

There's a bus from Fira to Monolithos that stops at the airport. Again, check the schedule at the bus square. The fare is 1.2 euro. This bus is not as frequent as other routes, so it may be necessary for you to take a taxi to the airport depending on your departure time. Your hotel can help you with this or you can find the taxi rank next between the bus square and the main square and do it yourself. The fare from Fira to the airport shoudld be no more than 10-12 euro.

About the same as to the airport, 12-15 euro.

Does anyone know how much a taxi from Oia to the airport would cost? Thanks.

About €25. Taxis are now metered. Have the driver call ahead to your hotel (provide him with the phone number) and the hotel will tell him where to drop you off so someone can meet you and guide you to your room.
