Malta - What do to do in a just day?
I am reposting this as suggested.
I am in Malta next week on business and have one free evening and free time on Saturday. I am staying at the Westin Dragonara. I have not been to Malta for over 30 years (and don't remember much), so am looking for some suggestions as to how best to spend my free time.

My very favorite spot in Malta is the Hypogeum, if you haven't been...but then, just wandering around Valletta and stopping in museums or churches here or there makes me happy, too!
There's a "Malta's 100 Best" thread here (sorry I can't link to it as my computer is doing odd things) that you could search for some more good ideas.

Valletta would be my option. Maybe you could try to go to Mdina too (the quite city)If you go there and the weather is good have tea and a pastry at Fontanella tea rooms (ask for directions once youre there)sit outside on the terrace and admire the country views.

Well, this is a bit late for uktravelover, but for anyone else thinking of Malta, here's the 100 Best Thread: http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34569518
I highly recommend Malta for lovers of art and color, history mavens, and those who want to go back in time a bit. In fact, I'd love to be able to go there a lot more frequently; not to the beach areas, but to Valletta and Gozo and many of the other spots.

Visit Valletta and go an see Valletta Living History as that way in 30 minutes you will know all you need about Malta and its history. I found it the best way to get the most out of my visit. Valletta is a great city to see a lot in a short time.
