Santorini and Mykonos "active" activities

We will be staying on these islands for 6 days each in May and would like to do some hiking, kayaking and generally physically active things (as opposed to sitting at the pool or beach) Is it easy to get kayak rentals? Any hikes you would recommend on these islands or is it better on other islands we could travel to?

Perhaps a Cypriot flagged, Greek officer cruise might be active enough.

In Santorini, we took a private half-day boat tour which included swimming in the sulphur springs and hiking through the volcano, as well as tasting local wine made by the boat captain's grandfather! I think these tours are pretty easy to find, and that you can book them through your hotel.

Great, thats just what I was wondering, the availability of activities.

Just for future reference to any one who might also be interested we found the hiking was fantastic in both locations. In Mykonos we were able to take an easy hike from Platys Gialos Beach almost to Super Paradise beach. In between each beach is spectacular rocky outcroppings where we picniced and watched for dolphins. Also we hiked the hilly rode to Platys Iannios where the movie Shirley Valentine was filmed.

I've read on this board of a hike between Fira and Oia - take a look at Meredith's Turkey and Greece trip report - she has provided a link to the website describing the route.
