santorini

Its our first time to Greece this Easter week, and we will spend only one nite on Santorini. Needless to say, we dont want to choose the wrong lodging!
Please recommend a "cant go wrong" spot with a great view and spotless accomodations. We arrive around 7pm, leaving the following day in the late evening. Medium and expensive options, if possible, and English speaking (sorry, i'm a language loser) Thanks so much!

There are so many choices there -- I can only provide info from my personal experience, when I stayed last year.

In town of Oia, "Esperas Traditional Houses"
http://www.esperas-santorini.com
is one villa/hotel that meets your requirements, at the "expensive" end of your price range.

I much preferred the town of Oia over Fira. Oia was much prettier, charming, and quieter. Fira was more congested, noisier, and tacky, but I can imagine Fira would appeal to travellers in their 20s.

Check the Scirocco Hotel in Fira, Villa Ilias in Firostefani and Oia Mare or The Residence in Oia.

Highly recommend Residence Suites in Oia.

See attached website for photos. We stayed in the room with the dark stone wall behind the bed. The balcony out front had a hammock with expansive views over the crater. Continental breakfast delivered to the room each morning--we dined on the balcony. No restaurant, very small pool (size of large hot tub), but if those aren't important, a great place to stay.

Lori-I checked out the Residence Suites but its hard to tell which room you get for the prices listed. Your room was lovely, what class of room was it? Do they each have their own balconies?

Sorry for the delay in responding, as I've been traveling! According to my records, we reserved the honeymoon suite. It had a large terrace with umbrella covered table, as well as a large hammock. It's more of a terrace than a balcony -- the sides are very low, but the view is incredible. Highly recommend it.

I'm not sure if all rooms have terraces/balconies, but if you email them, they'll answer any questions you have. The email was [email protected]
