Has anyone stayed at La Maltese Estate in
Imerovigli, Santorini? It is a Relais & Chateaux property that looks beautiful.

I loved R&C properties so I was tempted to stay here on our recent trip to Santorini, but ended up staying in Oia instead. We went over to Imerovigli to check out La Maltese and I was really disappointed in what we found considering the price of the rooms at La Maltese. For a return visit, I'd choose Perivolas in Oia.

now I've got second thoughts.

We didn't see the rooms, but we saw the common areas, the pool, etc.

The place actually looked a little run down--chipped paint, some garbage around, etc. The pool was nice, but the tall fence around it blocked the view of the caldera.

I hope that it was only since we were there in May and they hadn't cleaned up fully yet for the season.
