Santorini

My wife and I are "ditching" our 3-year-old daughter Isabella with my parents in Sweden and then hopping on a flight to Greece to spend 5 days in heaven.

I'm looking for a recommendation as to the best places to stay regardless of budget (not that I don't have one but my wife deserves the "royal treatment" so we'll splurge a bit =)

Here are some keywords that fit us well: not really party-people, love good food, nice atmospheres, local people and feeling, romantic, very clean accomodations/facilities, shopping (that's my wife), room with a view.

Thank you very much in advance for your help!

One addition to my previous posting:
The island in question is Santorini

I stayed at Esperas and loved it (especially the view), but since you are looking for the best/royal treatment, I think I would recommend Katikies in Oia.

Do a search for Katikies in this forum -- there are several personal accounts, and it sounds wonderful.

Oia is definitely the village for you. Katikies and Esperas are two of the best hotels there along with the Perivolas Villas. But if you'd like to take a look at something different, traditonal houses with self-catering facilites (includes daily maid service), check out the Aspaki Suites, also in Oia, well-situated in the center of the village with an extraordinary view of the caldera. No swimming pool, however.

I just booked a room at Perivolas for my honeymoon in september...i did a ton of research for the best place to suit us in Oia, Santorini, and i came up with perivolas. the clincher was this review: http://www.mrandmrssmith.com/boutiqu...rini/perivolas

That's a compelling review, I wholeheartedly agree! You will not be disappointed. Congratulations! :)
