Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain

Newspaper article on what to do on a short stay there.

Ignore the bit on how to get there and prices as this is written for a U.K. audience.

Thank you ribeirasacra for passing that information along. Something for me to look forward to - only three weeks before I leave to go to Spain for 5 weeks!! I passed my Spanish 1001 course and ready for new adventures en la norte de Espana.

Denise

I assume even you did not pass the course, you would have visited Spain. The Sapanish are extremely gracious when a visitor speaks their language, so be sure to use your new found lanaguage.

Ribeirasacra, thanks for posting.

Denise, wishing you good luck . Enjoy beautiful Northern Spain! Try to visit Santiago on July 25th if you are in Spain by then.

Ah Santiago--absolutely wonderful! Can't forget my first time viewing inside the Cathedral--the golden opulence-amazing.

****the golden opulence-amazing.***

When I see that I cannot help to think about the poor of the congregations who paid for this in the hopes they will get to heaven, or the robbing of the indigenous inhabitants of South America.

But what ever your feelings are enjoy SdC, especially Denise on her grand vacation.

If I recall my history correctly was it not Pizzaro who executed Atahualpa after the ransom of gold was paid by the Incas. Atahualpa the Inca ruler had to hold his hand above his head and the Inca were to fill with room with gold to as high as his hand would reach, they did yet he was executed anyway. Atahualpa had just defeated his brother Huascar for land, gold or power - such is history and its turbulent nature. Thank you all, I will enjoy my Spanish immersion in culture and language.
