Santa's new suit
I have desgned a new suit for Santa, I'd like him to look a little updated when he delivers my gifts to Europe. How can I contact him????
|
Try waiting by your chimney all night and catch him as he comes down. If you don't have a chimney leave all your windows unlocked and pray only he makes it in.
Happy Holidays to you and good luck in your fledgling career.

Hi, fashionella. I organize tours for the North Pole. I am a personal friend of Santa's and would love to arrange a meeting for you.

|
Fashionella: If you do meet him, would you arrange for me to meet him? I have designed a new reindeer harness(ASPC approved)
|
WHAT?!!!! I've been designing his suits for years, YEARS I tell you. He does not WANT to look updated! If children wanted a trendy stylish modern Santa, mommy and daddy would buy one. Do you realize how many years of training and experience and research and consultation went into developing the loveably lived-in look of Santa's finely crafted soft and sturdy attire? You would have him abandon all that beauty just so you can make a buck?! Hrmpfff!
|
Hold on, Mr Sarto, and I don't like your tone of voice.
First of all, THIS IS NOT ABOUT MONEY.
This is about aesthetics and caring.
Do you realize how many years Santa has been around?
Do you realize how many animals are killed to trim his suit?
I intend as a result of my design to also help the Malden mills by using their polar fleece.
|
How about something nice and flowy -- a pretty red muumuu? It's hard to find something that flatters a figure like his! I've even seen him in a crispy pink jogging suit and bright white tennies (one of those New Year's Resolutions he breaks every year!) and, trust me, it ain't pretty...
|
Also Fashionella, could you find out if Santa would allow me to adopt a baby reindeer because I can't have children or puppies nor guppies.
|
Just shows what YOU know. We've been dressing him in cruelty-free fabrics for decades. Reindeer are a pain to use for transport. He just does it for the kids--tradition and all that. The rest of the year he uses his lovely sled dogs. In just one day's grooming they shed enough beautiful, dense, white fur to trim Santa's suits for the next five years. What could be better: it's organic and natural, and it helps prevent the waste of a fine natural resource and keeps Santa's igloo clean.
|
Stop this nonsense about designing Santa a new suit at once! You don't want him to make my worst-dressed list, do you. He's fine the way he is.
|
Sorry, Mr Sarto, you are way off base. I have been doing logging for Santa for years and he ALWAYS picks me up with the reindeers guiding him. The facts are, the suit is a lovely plush velvet and the fur I believe mink.
I want to thank Fashionella for trying to help Malden Mills. They have been in Chapter 11. This contract could put them back in business and no more layoffs.
|
I, for one, would love to see him dress in another style! Do you know that red outfit is American & is red because it was designed for a Coca-Cola ad? I wouldn't even care if he went "retro" and got back into a more "Sinter Klaus" look with more of a robe-style instead of the cinched jacket, which does nothing for him, except to accentuate the "spare tire" around his middle!

Dumbddumb, this is a Christmas card in progress for Fodors. If you do not like it, move on, we'll understand.

regards, Lex
|
Lumerjack, yes one of his suits is prewashed velvet, vut no, we never use mink. I just can't say enough about the versatility and beauty of dog hair. Just thinking about it makes me shiver with a joy only tailors know. It CAN indeed be made to look like mink, and we have done a few suits in that particular trim. Why he'd wear it on a routine off-holiday errand is beyond me, though. Its a shame when ones clients are rough on their precious clothes. Ah me, does no one appreciate fine tailoring?
|
I am sure he must have a cell phone.
Who does not these days!

Hi all, just dropping in briefly--don't want to butt in on my brother's field. He has designed a variety of more retro outfits as various traditional Euro looks (the Russian one is to die for), and sometimes /santa does quick changes enroute to switch into something a little more appealing to the locality he's visiting. But Santa loves the old belted red suit look for his North A,erican jaunts. and while we all know the belt doesn't exactly flatter his figure, wwhat YOU don't know is that I've orthopedically designed that belt as an aid in supporting his back. He does a lot of havy lifing on Christmas eve, and he's no spring chicken. He really needs these orthopedic aids to keep doing his labor of love.
|
Dr. Sarto,
What a knowledgeable reply. I can understand Santa needing a belt to support when he lifts, but really, what he wears now is beyond attention-getting, it's unsightly. Is it possible for the belt on the new outfits to be under the robe? I think outfits can be functional, meet the wearer's needs, and be fashionable, too. Thanks a bunch.

First, Hi, Lummberjack(we met at santa's Christmas party.
I'm here to vouch for Fashionella, not that I want these changes, please note!
Santa sens a few reindeers to pick me up and I clean befor hand whatever chimmney he goes down so he doesn't get that animal fur and velvet all messed up. The tradition of that beautiful velvet, the best i have seen, I may add, goes back to eons. Personally, I don't think the old boy will go for it, but hey, what do I know.
Good luck to you, miss.

I have seen Sarto's brother's shoddy work that he designs for these corner boy santas. He makes K-Mart look good.
|
Seriously, though, does anyone have contact information for Santa? I have a BIG request for him!!!
