Santa Margherita or Forte Dei Marmi?
 

I'm travelling to Italy for the first time, and (unfortunately) will only be there for several days. I'm planning on going on Aug. 7-8 and will have to leave on the 13th. I'd like to choose between Santa Margherita and Forte Dei Marmi, any suggestions/recommendations? I'm going with my boyfriend, so I'd like to go somewhere that's beautiful, relaxing and fun as well. (Good nightlife...)

Both places are nice, if you want to do day trips I will suggest Forte dei Marmi...you can quickly go to places like Pisa. Also for the nightlife Forte dei Marmi will be a better choice

Santa Margherita Ligure, which is a lively and beautiful yacht harbor, is an easy jumping off point for Cinque Terre and Portofino, so if you want to see the colorful Ligurian coast and do boat trips, it's a good choice for that.
