Santa Chiara Rome

Does anyone have a particular room number or type of room they recommend at this hotel?

Why don't you do search on Santa Chiara on this forum and then email those (who provided their addresses) who stayed there, since your question doesn't seem to be getting answerd.

Thanks for your suggestion but I 've already done that and only received one comment. I'm hoping to find more info.

Hi, I haven't stayed there yet, but I'm booked there for this fall. <BR>These are some comments I've compiled: <BR>June 2001: <BR>"Our room (343) had tub but only 1/3 shower door so you had to stay towards the front or risk getting bathroon wet." <BR> <BR>Fodors itself recommends the Santa Chiara, mentions that not all rooms are spacious but all have character and are quiet. Excellent location. "Rants and Raves" on this Fodor's website mention great location, rooms "big enough", bathrooms "very small", excellent service, comfortable beds. Air conditioning. Also has 3 apts for 2-5 persons each. roughguides.com says "hard to do better for the price", "nice rooms". <BR>from www.geocities.com/ <BR>"Public rooms are cool; bedrooms are carpeted, with quality furnishings and marble bathrooms. Street-facing rooms can be noisy so ask for a room not facing the street." <BR>

I was there just last month but can't remember my room number. But, I really loved this hotel. Excellent location, big room with view of piazza, nice bathroom, great staff, etc. I know some of the rooms have terraces, and although I faced the street, noise at night was not a problem. But it might be worth e-mailing or calling the hotel if you have specific concerns. Have fun!

We were in a suite, No. 224, which was really two rooms open to each other. It had a huge terrace in the courtyard side of the hotel so there wasn't a view but it was great to sit out on. The odd thing was that there was no furniture on this huge terrace, but I took chairs from the room out when I wanted to use it. We were there nearly three years ago so maybe they have added terrace furniture since then.
