San Sebastian question
We have a use of an apt in SS for four day ( in mid May)
Would day trips to Pamplona and/ or Victoria be interesting? We have been to Bilbao and Santander in the past. Prefer not to drive. |
You'll find Pamplona to be very interesting in both its long history and culinary excellence, and yes, it would make for a good day-trip from Donostia. It's a vibrant city an hour by bus, which drops you off right in the center, a few minutes walk from the old quarter and the Plaza del Castillo. One of the best times to be in Pamplona is when they hold Pintxos Week, which usually involves at least 90 of the best bars, cafes and restaurants. Bar Chelsy, C/de Iturrama, 20, is one of our favorites, along with Casa Luis, C/del Padre Calatayud, 11, El Gaucho, C/de Espoz y Mina, 7, and just about every place along C/San Nicholás.

Both Vitoria/Gasteix, the capital of the Basque Country, and Pamplona/Iruña are interesting and well worth visiting.
