San Sabastian ,lodging
I am having a difficult time coming up with lodging under a 100euro per night. Does anyone have a recommendation for some place quiet and clean?? Thanks for your help we will be there in July.

No specific ones but just to say that you should easily IME to be able to find something less than 100 euro that is passable - i recently paid about 50 euro for a room in a pension (casa de hospades i think they are called) - consult Let's Go Spain for recommendations of cheaper places that are decent - in any major library or bookstore.

This is an excellent group for inexpensive and clean lodging. I just returned from a very enjoyable 3 night stay at the Pension Aida. The Pension Kursaal is also very nice but was not available. |
Bellas Artes was also good but not too quiet on outside rooms. Book well in advance for San Sebastian in July, anything good will sell out.

CathyM I stayed at the Itxasoa. My room had a balcony facing the sea and during the day I was out but at night trying to sleep was a challenge-there's a metal speed bump that makes a noise every time a car goes over it! Last summer I called and asked for one of the rooms on the other side of the building but the renovation of the San Telmo continues!
So last May I stayed at the Zaragoza Plaza hotel.I loved it and don't understand why it gets only 1 star! I just checked and the rates just about double in July. However if you book early you may get a discount andbe pretty close to your budget w/breakfast included! |
