San Giovanni in laterano neighborhood
Looking at "Santa Croce apartment" in the San Giovanni in Laterano district of Rome for 2 weeks in Feb. Anyone know of this apartment or can tell us anything about the area? The apartment is on Via Caltagirone off Via la Spezia between San Giovanni and Ponte Casillio Metro. There are just 2 adults. We will be in Rome/So. Italy for 5 weeks. How about Sicily?

I would stay somewhere more central.

another vote for trying to find a more central location in Rome, i.e. near Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Campo de'Fiori, Trastevere. We had good luck renting through realrome.com-- reasonable rates and a very helpful owner.
What do you want to know about Sicily? |
Charmless neighborhood just outside the city walls. If this is your first visit, I agree that you should find a more central location. I'd consider it only if it was a great deal.

It seems like a good deal e350 per week for 70 sq. meter place with large bedroom. Have not found anything close in price as other listed above already booked (thanks). Any other thoughts/suggestions? Places to stay in Sicily as well?
|
The reason it's only 350E/week is becuase of its location.
If that is the most you can possibly spend, then that's that. If, however, you can afford to pay a more for a more central location (Campo dei Fiori, Pantheo, Pizza Navona), then it would be money VERY well spent. I don't care how great a "deal" the other place is. I assume this is a vacation? |
I agree with other responses--good price, bad location.
