San Gimignano or Pisa?

We will be staying in Impruneta, just outside of Florence, for 7 days at the end of May-beginning of June. Which day trip do you well-traveled types recommend - San Gimignano or Pisa? P.S. We've been to Sienna (loved it and plan to go again) and Orvieto is one of our favorites. FYI, if looking for houses for week-long rentals outside Florence, try www.tuscanydays.com

Hi sagittarius, I would personally opt for San Gimignano. Whatever you decide, have a fabulous trip! P.S. I for some reason, in spite of many trips to Italy have never been to Siena. But I sure love Orvieto also.

If I had to choose between the 2, it would definitely be San Gimignano.......

Not been to San G but been to Pisa and found it a bit of a letdown. I LOVE Siena too!

the Tuscan landscape around San G. is stunning. There are also several good restaurants there too. Climb to the top of the tallest tower for a spectacular view.

I'm planning a trip to Florence and would like to visit San Gimignano, too. What's the quickest way to get there: bus or train? Travel times? Thanks!

I do not believe there's a train station in San G. You will have to take the bus or car. I do not have the bus schedule. Maybe someone else can help with that.
